Step 1

Become a member by signing up in minutes

Getting started is simple. 

Choose a membership, monthly, annual or one off.

We offer a variety of payment options to suit nearly everyone!

All three provide our primary service with a couple of bonus features on our annual plan which is also our most cost effective.

Once you sign up with guardID, you’re officially a member & we will automatically ensure you can leap straight into the next stage of registration.

If you don’t have time to complete this right away we also send you a link so you can do it later on.

Step 2

Securely register your details & sign a letter of authority

You’ll securely share the details you want protected (such as email addresses, phone numbers, or other identifiers).

We only use this information for one purpose: to act on your behalf and contact organisations that are holding or misusing your data.

The letter of authority allows us to act on your behalf.

You also have the option to upload proof of identity and address to increase the success rate of our deletion requests on your behalf.

You’ll always be able to update the details you provide too, so don’t worry if you forget an email address, or two!

Step 3

We identify & contact companies

At this point you are protected and we are ready to take action against unwanted mail, marketing, and misuse of your personal information.

Using your registered details, we will begins contacting companies that may be sending you spam, holding & trading in your personal data without a clear reason or just generally not respecting your data rights.

You don’t need to chase anyone, we do that work for you.

We are constantly working to expand our coverage with the aim to include every company trading in your data within our service. It’s a challenge but one we are always striving for.

Step 4

Ongoing monitoring, follow-ups & regulatory enforcement

Some companies comply immediately, others need reminders. We track responses, follows up where necessary, and escalates requests when required to make sure progress keeps moving.

We ask companies to suppress collecting your data in the future, some will, some won’t. Where they won’t we will send regular repeat requests to ensure your data once deleted, stays deleted.

If a company fails to respect your data rights, we will seek to enforce them by contacting regulators on your behalf. We typically aggregate evidence against an organisation to demonstate a pattern of behaviour.

Step 5

We send you monthly progress summaries

We know, the last thing you want is more admin clogging up your life.

As such we will minimise the amount we bother you & refine our comms down to a single email each month.

It will have a summary showing you what we have done in the month & will include any relevant intelligence that may help boost your only security.

This way, you can see exactly how guardID is working on your behalf, no guesswork, no black box.

If you’d rather less frequent updates you can choose quarterly or bi-annual options too.

Step 6

Bonus: report organisations to us for further investigation

Found a new company spamming you or mishandling your data?

Suspect a company is misusing data you have shared with them?

Receiving spam from someone you never shared your email with?

Members can report their suspicions directly with us. We’ll investigate and, where appropriate, bring them into our system and take action on your behalf & make sure your intelligence helps every single member of guardID.

You can also enter our prize draw for every new piece of intelligence you supply, or nominate a charity for your entry to remain anonymous.
